Back Page Design Contest | 16 bit Vs. 8 Bit | Cool Adobe Site | Contest!
This is pretty cool- so I figured I’d wax on about it here. Layers Magazine has setup a Back Page Design Contest! The premise is pretty simple:
- Go to the Contest Website
- Download the starter image to your computer
- Use ANY piece of Adobe software to design something cool. It could be a website, a Flash banner, an Acrobat form – the design is completely of your creation.
- Submit your final work to us and if you are chosen, you will win a $300 shopping spree at Kelby Training.

Dave Cross forwarded me a really cool site to check out. It demonstrates taking Flash to the umpteenth level. It’s called Adobe Cards, and I’ve spent entirely too much time sitting and thinking about how much work went into making this. Check it out at this link here.

16 Bit Versus 8 Bit Tutorial

Contest Time
The contest this week is pretty simple. I’m going to ask you guys to submit an idea for a product review. There are tons of things in my office that I can talk to you about – many of which you maybe wondering about from a “Should I get it?” standpoint. Go to the Contact Page, and click on the Layers TV drop down. In the text box, type in: “I would like to see a review on…” and let me know what you would like to find out more about. Hardware, Software, you name it- just let me know what you’d like to see.
Our editors will select a winner on Monday 5PM, so that’s the deadline. On Tuesday, I will post the winner of the contest. The winner will receive a copy of Joe McNally’s celebrated book, “The Moment It Clicks“. This book is an absolute joy to read and will quickly become a go-to book in your collection.
