Living In Layers - The OFFICIAL Layers Magazine Blog
Catch Us On Twitter | Animate Rain Shadows | Lee Brimelow Interview
Happy Tuesday everyone. Let’s start it off by talking a little bit about Twitter!
Both NAPP and Layers magazine have joined Twitter! For those of you who aren’t in the know, Twitter is a “micro-blogging” site that tells the world “what you are doing”. It’s also a great way for us to give you up-to-the-minute news on what’s going on with Layers magazine, as well as in NAPP.
Because we just joined the “Twitterverse”, we wanted to start having a little fun with it. Here’s the deal – As soon as our Twitter followers (for “NAPP-News”) reaches 200 we’re going to start asking Photoshop-related questions and giving away cool prizes to whoever “DM’s” the correct answer first!
(BTW – DM stands for “direct message” in Twitterspeak)
To join in on the fun, simply log in to (or create) your Twitter account and start following us!

Hey, you can even catch up with me on Twitter – http://twitter.com/LayersTV_RC
Catch a great tutorial on After Effects and a Lee Brimelow Interview, after the jump.
After Effects Animates Rain
Steve Holmes has a nifty tutorial for animating rain shadows in After Effects. The cool part about this tutorial is that it follows a very simple premise for me: You don’t have to do something that is incredibly hard to achieve a great effect.

Flash Player with Justin Everett-Church
Lee Brimelow at The Flash Blog has got a really cool interview with Justin Everett-Church who is the Senior Product Manager for Flash Player. Lee and Justin spend a good amount of time talking about some of the interesting additions that have been made to Flash Player 10 — everything from hardware acceleration (a couple of new wmodes- Direct, and GPU), to a newly ramped Drawing API.
