RC introduces ‘everyday design’, a segment in which he breaks down how he would go about designing a random graphic element from everyday life. This week he is inspired by a can of oatmeal. Follow RC’s workflow as he locates a specific font, finds stock images, and combines those elements in Photoshop with strokes, layer masks, fill opacity, and eventually uses smart objects and the 3D tools inside Photoshop CS4 Extended. Corey has a tutorial about transferring settings from one Wacom tablet to another.

Where have Corey and RC been? The guys come on to talk about the new format and the new episodes coming January 6th! In this previous episode, RC uses After Effects to create an animated title that can then be imported into Flash as an FLV file. Corey demonstrates how to use vector graphics from the Symbols panel and the Twirl tool to create flourishes that can be incorporated in grungy backgrounds.
