Checking for Illustrator Updates

I do not use my laptop on an everyday basis. My desktop computer is used for virtually all of my freelance work with the laptop reserved almost exclusively for onsite training. The last thing I want when I’m setting up for a training session is for Illustrator to automatically start looking for and downloading updates. So I turn off Auto Updates in Illustrator for all of Creative Suite by going to Help > Updates, and in the window that opens, press the Preferences button, uncheck “Automatically check for updates every month,” and press OK. I can check for Updates when it’s more convenient, by going to Help > Updates and clicking OK.
