Chris Converse
Chris Converse is a versatile, award-winning designer who integrates creative strategy with sophisticated design-for the kind of results clients want. His expertise is a perfect balance between traditional and interactive mediums, including print, interactive, DVD and CD-ROM production, animation, corporate identity, branding, and photography. A short list of clients includes: Adobe Systems, AOL, Comcast, Campbell's, Pepperidge Farm, Moore College of Art, University of Pennsylvania, Breastcancer.org, Independence Blue Cross, AmeriHealth, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Accuvue, McNeil Consumer Health, and many more.
Before founding Chris Converse Design, he had the good fortune to work with a range of agencies and clients that helped him build the strong work ethic he incorporates into every job.
At SimStar, Chris was Creative Director, managing designers and developers on interactive pharmaceutical projects like Toprol-XL, Botox Cosmetic, Xanax-XR, Lumigan, plus self-promotion work for the agency.
Prior to that, Chris honed his design skills as Senior Designer & Design Engineer at Medical Broadcasting Company. There, he incorporated his User Experience know-how and research in technological advancements with solid website design strategies for a slew of clients-including the internationally known pharmaceutical company, Wyeth. He led the design charge for Wyeth's first corporate website, and in the process, developed templates and a style guide that are still used today in more than 16 countries. Chris traveled to Belgium to meet with Wyeth representatives from nine countries to help refine the overall design and navigation strategy. Additionally, Chris raked in three design awards during his tenure at Medical Broadcasting Company-two eHealthcareworld awards for best pharmaceutical website design and one New York Arts Festival award for best interactive self-promotion.
At Adobe Systems, Chris researched and developed new technologies for the software company. He also became an Adobe Certified Expert in Internet Publishing, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. To this day, Chris maintains a long lasting consulting relationship with Adobe, providing an array of interactive services to help support their most popular software design products, including GoLive and InDesign.
Chris also worked for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, designing and maintaining the health system's first official website and a consumer-based interactive phone system called PENNHealth Aware. And at the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, Chris worked on web design, corporate identity, and everything in-between-helping increase enrollment in the process.
If all of that hands-on experience wasn't enough, Chris has taught new media courses to art students, and has also been invited to create and present content as guest speaker for a number of industry events.
Chris holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and continues to study, research and develop new ways to push the boundaries of design and technology. He'll be the first to tell you that his hobby is his career, which certainly keeps him on top of his game. But when he does take a breather from the design world, Chris enjoys golf, skiing, racquetball, and travel.
