cintiq_rc.jpgCintiq 12WX Review
We have a review posted of the famed Cintiq 12WX, written by our own Corey Barker. We have had the 12WX in the offices for quite some time, and they really are an awesome piece of equipment to use. The -only- complaint that I have ever had about them has been my inability to use it with a Macbook Pro AND a widescreen DVI monitor.

Right now, when you plug in the Cintiq, it goes into the same side port that you would use to plug in an external monitor. The box that the Cintiq attaches to does not have a DVI plug into it, so there's no toggle capacity for it. I'm really hoping that the next models of the 12WX add something like that - I'm sure mobile users that connect to external monitors would totally dig that.

While on the topic of Wacom, I was checking out Endgadget and noticed that they posted a news alert about some new technology Wacom is supposed to be introducing very soon. Dubbed Reversing Ramped Field Capacitive (RRFC) touch seems like this should spell drift free use, and increased precision (touch! maybe!). Whatever it is coming out of the minds of Wacom, I'm sure it will be totally droolable. Check it out at the following link:

Poser Pro is Out
Just got this in: The brains behind Poser are at it again. They've created an app that takes Poser to even greater heights - Poser Pro. From the release:

"Building on the global success of Poser® 7, long used by digital artists and hobbyists to create 3D images and animations, Smith Micro developed Poser Pro with a feature set and functionality geared for professional content creators within studio and production environments. To save users time, resources and development costs, Poser Pro offers advanced features that include scene-hosting plug-ins for popular 3D environments, as well as a 64-bit render engine, COLLADA™ support and advanced network rendering. "

Hi Corey -

Possibly you saw my whine on the NAPP Forums but that really annoys me too.... there are times where I'm just too lazy to unplug my external monitor to use my Cintiq 12WX.

I tried out possible workaround solutions such as a DVI AND VGA switches from B&H but I came into the new problem where OS X does not recognize either monitors and gives me no option to choose the native resolution of either display :(
