Layers Back Page Design Contest

The Mission
According to our “Going Mobile” story by Brian Fling on page 38 of the May/June 2009 issue of Layers magazine, mobile Internet browsing will far outpace desktop Internet browsing in just a few short years. Your mission is to create a poster or flier promoting a sporting event where a mobile device is going head-to-head against a desktop computer. Each device needs to be an illustration of your own creation (no photos of the actual devices allowed, but you can use photos in other parts of your design).
The Judging
The judges will be looking at the overall design, creativity, use of type, and quality of the illustrations. Keep in mind, if you want to win the grand prize, you have to show us your skills as an illustrator. (Note: Please proofread your designs, or have someone proofread them for you. Typos have a negative impact on the judging.)
The Prize
The grand prize winner will receive a medium Wacom Intuos4 and a copy of Corel Painter 11. That’s a retail value of $778! With Intuos4 offering 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity and the latest version of Painter adding incredible new features such as tablet tilt, you’ll be creating masterpieces that will make the masters themselves roll over with jealousy.
The Deadline
July 10, 2009. The winner will be announced in the September/October 2009 issue of Layers magazine.

But, one last thing, concerning the mobile phone and the desktop computer : for exemple if i modeled an iphone in a 3D program is it ok to do that or do i have to make a generic phone and computer?
thanks.

Hi Sean Hodge,
It can be a poster, or flier, or postcard, etc., so the dimensions are up to you.

Hi Mohamed Lamgouni (again),
As long as the mobile device is an illustration, it can look like anything you want it to.
