Double Layers TV Shows! Double Tutorials! AND an Amazing contest
Happy Thursday everyone. Believe me, you want to follow along on this one!
2 Layers TV Episodes - Draw an iPhone From Scratch
This week, everyone at the office was hit with iPhone Fever! While this was happening, Corey and I looked at one another and said to ourselves, “Hey, why don’t we create a super duper double Layers TV episode focused on the iPhone?” It sounded like a great idea at the time - and what you have now are TWO episodes that cover cool Creative Suite ideas focused on the iPhone.
Corey kicks it off with his tutorial about creating cool icons for the iPhone, based on a view mail request from DMSwanson. Thanks for the tip - we’re glad we were able to put that one out to you. After Corey finished, we had our Creative Director Felix Nelson come on and give us a quick way to create an iPhone from Paths using Layer Styles.
Special Giveaway Alert
However, it doesn’t stop there! I’ll tell you this much - keep an eye out for the contest on the second part of the iPhone episode. The giveaways are just incredible. You’re not going to want to miss it - believe me!
Two Tutorials for the Price of One
As you wait for that second Layers TV podcast to come up (should be early this AM), I’ll give you two tutorials that you can feast on while you are waiting. Marcus Geduld opens your eyes to keyboard shortcuts, while James Felici takes us through the specifics on creating fractions. Make sure you click on the tutorial links below:
Marcus Geduld - Mastering Keyboard Shortcuts
James Felici - Fractional Improvements
That’s it for today everyone. Make sure you check out those episodes. We’ll catch up some more tomorrow!

Ok, I enjoyed the tutorial on the new phone. Lots of tricks, tips and techniques. But am I the only one to see what a rip-off the phone industry business is. By the time someone has recreated this iPhone image it will be redundant. Another phone version will have replaced it.
Please stop promoting this “gotta-have the new one today” lining of someone elses’ pockets. Do we really all need to be on the phone 24 hours a day? By the way I do not have a mobile phone of any kind.

Layers TV Episode 44 Part 2 can be downloaded but not captured by iTunes. I hate iTunes - there has to be a better way to get video tutorials! Even with Broadband the on-line version quits right at the Contest rules stage so there is no way to get the complete information for that last contest.
What little has been gleaned is very confusing. Do you need all four parts answered at the Layers Contest Entry Box or what? It sounds a complete mess as to how to enter this high-falutin’ contest. It does not help not to be able to hear the last part of that tutorial.
I think you need to write out the contest, rules and mode of entry submission on RC’s blog for this complex topic.

Are the Photoshop paths available to download anywhere? I can’t find them. Felix Nelson mentions them in his tutorial, but we can’t follow along without those files.
Thanks!
