Education Tuesday Here at Layers Magazine

corey barker blog on planet photoshop

If I had a fortune cookie to break open this early in the morning, I’m assuming it would say: “If you are learning the art of Photography or into the history of Adobe, today seems to be your day.”

David Ziser’s Digital Pro Talk has got some great images and ideas on how to get creative by giving yourself self-assignments. Mr. Ziser is one person who can produce some great imagery, even when taking his R&R. Stunning.

John Nack regales us with some history links about Adobe. To think – Adobe’s turning 25. Happy Birthday! He’s also got a good post on his site about how to upload from Lightroom to Flickr.

The Strobist is rocking it with some cool Hard Light/Film Noir assignments.

And to top it all off – you must pay a visit over to the Fountain o’ Photoshop – Planet Photoshop. It’s hosted by our resident Illustration Genius, Corey Barker. This site is teeming with really cool tutorials on the big P.

We can also bring it at the Tutorials section of this site. Make sure to check it out.

Once you’ve had your fill of great assignments and ideas, I have an assignment for you. Leave me a comment. Is there a particular tutorial, application, or idea that you’d like to cover? I’d love to include a little Viewer Mail for the holidays. Check out the comments, and let me know!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I’m enjoying the (fairly) new site design and direction. I’ve made a visit part of my morning routine once I get to work. I get to work fairly early & somehow you always manage to have posted the morning’s update already–what time do you get up?!? Anyway, keep up the good work!

Hey RC, I love the Layers TV and you and Corey do a great job…I particularly loved the AE tutorial Corey had done with the Vanishing Point filter. I wish he went a little bit further on some exporting tips but overall – I loved it!

Also, I would love to see more tutorials on Premiere Pro. Such as importing footage – multi camera editing and importing from AE to Premiere….

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Mike

FYI – The Planet Photoshop link goes to a Strobist post, also a great site.

Hey RC,

I’m a budding designer whose still in school, and to be able to have such great resources available to me like Layers TV and even Photoshop User TV, is wonderful. So a big thank you to everyone.

I agree with Mike. I’d love to see more in depth into that vanishing point tutorial and what went on in After Effects because I’m not very familiar with it. Can you do that with other photos. It was really an amazing thing.
