hi,
is there any secret/undocumented way to get 'text frame options' command to vertically justify multiple pages - eg, when laying out books? it would then be easier to go back & top justify the last page in each chapter. sure would be nice! thanks for any help!

As long as your text frames are linked, you can select them all at the same time by inserting the text tool in one of them and "select all" (Command A). You can then apply any formatting you want.

Hi Guy,
actually i've tried that before & it doesn't work; the command is grayed out and inoperable. it only works on the spread i can view, ie, 2 pages at a time.
i place anywhere from 100 to 400+ pages of text using auto fill. i want to vertically justify ALL the pages. then i can go back and top justify the last page of each chapter. much quicker that way.
any other suggestions?
thanx again!

After Command A with the text tool, if your text frames are linked, all the text should be selected but don't forget to click on the "Align to baseline grid" icon (it's in the paragraph palette or in the control palette when you have the text tool selected). You should now be able to access the "Text frame options". The default for this command is "Do not align to basegrid".

With no frames at all selected type ctrl+b and set the vertical justify. Now every new textframe will be vertically aligned.
This only works on new frames, not on the frames you've already made.

Hope this will work :-)
