I have a design question. I need a paper, a type of paper I can use to print an invitation made to look like a WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE poster. Any ideas? Torn or deckled edges would be nice but I am more concerned about the texture of the paper. I am not sure if it should be a felt or smooth finish? Cheers.

The paper they used at the time probably looked a lot the "parchment" types available at any quick printer. But from an artsy point of view, it might look unique to print it on the paper they make grocery bags out of, and then maybe hand tear the edges. It would be really cool if you could silkscreen them to make the ink look more like a letterpress.

Hmmm, yeah that sounds interesting on the brown paper though I am not so keen on the hand tearing stuff. Maybe embossing would be nice for emphasis. Thanks.

Hey, look what I found:

Also, if you Google deckle, you might find some products that help.

We did a Dixie Chicks piece where we took parchment paper and burned the edges - it was a wanted poster mockup. Scanned it and used it for the background. Looked great.

I know you want to print on said paper and burning a 1000 run or whatever it is probably not practical, just wanted to throw it out there…

the original one's were like the band posters you see stapled on the telephone poles, thin cardboard, pressed.
