Hi all, i would reallt appreciate some help or advice.

I am trying to make a ribbon shape with perfect curves and edges (vector)

Said ill make it for a friend who wants to make magnets for her business.

I have spent 1-2 hourson this and my heads about to explode.

If any1 wants to attepmt this fell free otherwise all advice muchly appreciated.

Basically i just want it black outlines white fill scalable to a4

I would take that image you posted and place it into Illustrator, then use Live Trace to vectorize it. Probably easier if you take it into Photoshop first and remove the gradient so all that Live Trace has to deal with is the shape of the ribbon.

If the live trace dont work for you, (its great), then try the pen tool on a separate layer when you place the ribbon in the document. Place the ribbon and lock it into position. Add your points to where the ribbon's outside area. When the tracing is finished, you can increase the stroke as you see fit and the fills white. good luck and you can do it. I believe in you

get your pen tool on and draw, draw, draw---- easy subject---- ten minutes tops

maybe you a need pen tutorial?

Illustrator is the pen tool! Period!

YES!!! i did managed to make it perfectly, Using illustrator pen tool and adding the rounded corner effect. (probably not the usual way to do it)

B.T.W live trace came close but still needed alot of editting to fix it
