View Full Version : InDesign CS glitches?

Two weird things -

1) I have designed a two colour advertising flyer 12 x18" with many ads.
It includes dozens of logos and a dozen different fonts.
It's too large to print on my laserprinter.
So I want to tile it. In the PRINT dialog box, I choose TILE/AUTO JUSTIFIED or AUTO.
Four pages spool to the printer, but only ONE 8 1/2" x 11" sheet prints... the top left quadrant.
One time it printed 3 of 4 pages, although I have no idea what I did differently!
Ideas anyone?

2) I exported the above file as a PDF in Adobe Reader 7. Hoping to tile it that way.
It prints OK in sections, but 3 graphic logo links are missing. They show on my screen. They are linked properly in the LINKS palette. But they do not print!
What gives?

I appreciate any good advice. Many thanks!

Raven,

I reproduced a 12x18 in. doc and printed it in 4 tiles on 8.5x11 paper with no problems (I use CS too). (I used a 0.5 overlap but I don't think that is a problem).

Did you checked to print "all pages" in the "general" part of the print dialog ?

For your second problem, sorry, I don't know.

I always take my project into a PDF... and then take a snapshot and print that for each sections... it's more reliable then the tiles. For you other problem what type of files are they? Sometimes I have noticed that my eps files will not print off right at the office but fine at the printer. Good luck

GuyB,
Yes I did that. When it spools it shows 4 pages/tiles downloaded.
But only 1 or 2 print.

I did export the file as a PDF. Even on the PDF the logos would be missing.
My commercial printer was able to proof the job and print it OK.
So how come I can't????
