This is no iphoto on steroids, i'll tell you that. Go to the Apple site and watch the video demo's. From what friends in the biz are telling me it's a radical new way of dealing with workflow for pro photographers, not just a cute image database. Everything is done in the Raw format for starters, and the orginizational aspects are without equal from what i understand. Go see the demo for yourself and get ready to be stuned. I guess this app fails to fall into any exsisting genre, but could represent the bigest breakthrough in digital photography since PS itself. Have a peak!

I am in the large format printing biz and am no expert on high end photography. i'm interested to see what the pro's hear have to say about this new app.

As I used to work for Apple... I have already seen the demos and currently use RAW format with the current version of iPhoto (i.e. the reference to iPhoto on steroids).... I am waiting to see it work as well and as soon as I can get down to the store to see it on a machine I will be doing that as well as testing it with my photos.... as for organizational issues iPhoto is where the basis came from on how they sort and store the photos as well as letting them be totally safe from outside interference or accidental fixes to the wrong file. The only major thing I am concerned about is that people get the wrong idea about this software and think it is a replacement for PS.... It is nothing more then another tool for the Pro Photographer and upper level amateurs who can afford it.
I for one look forward to seeing and using it.
