View Full Version : Need help with 3d text wrapping around a globe...

I would prefer to do this in Illustrator but if I can do it in Photoshop, I will do it there as well. Something similar to the image below. Just want the text to circle the globe.. I have a diff globe image I want to wrap the text around.

The term is more "mapping" than "wrapping". Use the "Map art" button in the 3D effects dialog. I suggest that you take a look at "Map" or "Mapping" in Illustrator's Help, it should give you a good start.

3D in Illustrator is limited. The thing about what you're looking to do is that the text is not only wrapping 3 dimensionally around a globe, but the text itself is also 3 dimensional. In Illustrator you can make 3D text and you can map 2D text around a globe, but you can't wrap 3D text around a globe. For that you need Strata, Maya, Shade7, Blender, Lightwave, StudioMax, or something else. Blender is free and is a lot like maya. If you want to do it in Photoshop you'll have to paint and draw it completely.
