When I am working with InDesign (CS2) I often place illustrator files in which have been placed a photoshop file. When I package that InDesign file and send it to our marketing department, the PSD is missing from the AI. We have gotten around by either manually sending the PSD and relinking it to each individual AI. That is excessive steps for the marketing department. The other option has been to export the AI as a tiff and place that tiff into the InDesign document. That is a hastle for me and leaves the file open to mistakes if the photoshop file is changed without relinking every .ai file and re exporting every tiff. Are there any settings that I can change to make sure that the photoshop file is packaged into the links folder with the illustrator file?

you could embed the photoshop file into the illustrator file in the links pallette instead of making it a link, as far as i know, that is the easiest way

I keep my assets in a subfolder of the main job in cases like this - then when you package the file, just include that subfolder.

yes, this is a problem as with OPI etc… do you save the AI file as PDF compatible? this should save a highres…but will link in you need to edit
Whatever method you use it will allways be a problem to know what happens when you edit the linked photoshop file :s the same workflow problem is a reality in PDF, EPS and AI files.
