Hi all!
I've seen the effect where a color photo has the color removed from all but one object. For example, an apple in a yard. The apple would be in color and everything else would be changed to black and white.
Anyone know how to achieve this effect?
Thanks!
Tony

There are a number of ways to accomplish this. The quickest way I know is to use the Quickmask feature to select the object you want to leave colored. When you exit Quickmask, everything but the subject item will be selected. From there choose the Command-U (Hue/Saturation adjustment) and lower the Saturation to -100. That's the quick answer anyway.
Bringing the saturation to -100 could yield surprising results depending on your image (like loosing details).
Here is another way :
1- select the object that you want to keep in color;
2- copy it;
3- leave the selection on and turn your image grayscale (Image/Mode/grayscale);
4- leave the selection and return your image to RGB mode (Image/Mode/RGB);
5- paste your colored image back (Edit/Paste into). (The copied image will be on another layer).
