hi, i would like to find out if i can use a spot uv on a car on the front cover.
the front cover is art matt 130 gsm.

i have heard that spot uv looks only good after a laminate but here i do not have a budget to laminate the cover first.

also i have heard that spot uv looks good on only 157 gsm up.

please clear my doubt
thanks

Ritika, my first thought is, if you do not know what a result will be like when printed, do not let yourself get into a possition where you are making that decision! Speak to the printer and ask to see samples. but to my knowledge, yes you can use a spot varnish on thinner stock, but it may want to "curl" and I would have thought a laminate would kill the varnish, but speak to those unsung heros we love to hate – the experts at putting ink on paper!

hello lou,
thanks for thereply,
by laminate I meant a Matt Laminate for the cover and then a spot UV for part of the cover,
Thanks,
Ritika
