Hi,
I am having a very confounding problem.
We have three networked PC's at my job where we all do design work in Indesign. Oftentimes all three of us in my dept. will, during the course of a day, work on one project at different times. However, two of the machines seem to be looking for different font types when the files are exchanged between them.
Oftentimes when I open a project, it says it's missing Times New Roman OTF. I can go to my Character Properties and change it to "Times New Roman" without any problems. However, when the person on the other machine opens the same file a few minutes later, their version of Indesign says it needs Times New Roman TT. I know that OTF is for Open Type and TT is for True Type, but what factors could make two computers look for two different versions of the same font?
Incidentally, the fonts for BOTH computers came from the same disk. If I navigate to the actual font files on either machine, they BOTH end in .ttf. Also, I have taken problematic fonts and made copies to put in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Indesign\Fonts on both machines, but nothing seems to be solving this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
