Hi, I am looking for solution of this problem.
I have a logo of company created in Illustrator and I need to export this to AutoCAD format *.dwg (od *.dxf). There is no problem, but AutoCAD cannot accepts and correctly displays Illustrator's "compound path". Some letters such as "a", "e" or "o" have inner hole filled as outline.
I tried to use Compound path->Release, it sepparates up inner hole, but with changing the color of this "sepparaterd hole" to a color of background I lost a possibility of having this transparent.
How to do this? How to use letters with holes as vector paths, not compound?
Thanks a lot for your tips and answers!

You can not have a path without a hole in it without making a compound path. It is just not possible.
However, I go between Illustrator and AutoCAD a lot. and I think what you want to do is this:
Release all the compound paths, Select everything you are exporting to CAD and remove all the fills, and assign a stroke them instead.
You should get the results you are looking for when you open up in CAD.

Thank you!
But I want do do this:
http://www.keilew.net/fauxs/illustrator/o.gif, where green color means transparency. Your solution can do stroked fonts like this: http://www.keilew.net/fauxs/illustrator/o2.gif where white color means transparency.
Is possible to do this?
I found a patch-solution - use Knife tool to slit one compound path to two or more normal paths, but this solution has not so "beatiful"...

It is not possible to do what you want to do without a compound path as far as I know.
Unless
If you export clipping masks does it work? It would be a bit time consuming but possible to make that O with clipping masks.

Actually, if you look at cad drawings in Illustrator, often time the letters do seem to have "slit" in them.

Jino , You might want to try this trick :
1. select all your outlined characters and group them together.
2. create a box that wrap them all
3. arrange the box to the back
4. select all
5. from the pathfinder press "Divide"
6. ungroup the new divided group
now the box is divided according to your character and thay are no longer compounds.
Hope it helps
