Hi,

Wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. I have a large number of 2.0 ID templates. We were upgrading to CS, but noticed when opening ID files in CS, the paragraph styles pallet displayed the styles out of order (no longer alpha). We are now converting to CS2 and we still see that 2.0 documents converted to CS or CS2 have out of order paragraph style pallets.

I've tried re-importing them, tried refreshing the pallet/doc, even tried deleting all the styles and re-importing them - but that only led to the links being broken.

Hi Kelster

I havent experienced this problem but just to check... have you tried doing a "Save As", closing & then reopening the templates? My palettes are always alphabetical so Im assuming this is just a glitch when opening older version templates. Forcing a save as a more current version should fix that (I would think).

Len

This is a known bug with some ID2 files converted to CS. Double click any of the style sheets, make a single change to any of the settings (even the name), and click O.K. to save. The list of style sheets should resort into alphabetical order. Now go back to the style sheet you changed and reverse what you did to it.

This tip comes from a book called Indesign CS/CS2 Breakthroughs by David Blatner. I cannot reccommend this book enough for problems like this. Let me know if this really worked.

Your trick worked. Thanks so much. Will also check out the book!
