File management question

I have boiler plate content that appears in multiple files/layouts. This content included text and graphics that span multiple pages. What can I do to have one location to keep the current version and have it automatically update the various individual files? I'm looking for something like the links tool for images that automatically lets you know there has been a version change and that you need to relink.

One of the new features in CS3 is the ability to Place the pages from one InDesign file into another InDesign file (File>Place), check Show Option, and in the window that opens choose the range of pages to Place, choose other options and click OK.

This loads all pages chosen from the original layout into a cursor with a preview of the first page. Click on the pages of your new document to position and place each of the loaded pages. All Placed pages are listed in the Links panel because they are linked back to the original layout. If the original document changes, the pages can be updated in the Links panel to maintain consistency.
