I'm new to flash and I'm looking for a good tutorial on how to make a banner. I want the pics to last for 2 secs and then fade out to another pic. Any help would be appriecated.

Read the tutorials in flash or look up animation/tweens in the help section. This is fairly easy and is covered in the help file.
Basically you would create a graphic for each banner... insert into a keyframe, 2 seconds (typically 30 frames later) you have another keyframe and then another to represent the length of the fade... add aother keyframe, change the Alpha to 0 and tween between the last 2 keyframes. if you want a crossfade, create a second layer. create a keyframe where the fade STARTS on the first graphic... create another keyfram where the fade ENDS on the first graphic and tween, then go 30 frames and keyframe again then repeat the fade out... keep going for as many banners you are rotating through.
BTW, 2 seconds is pretty short. and having a still image on the screen be it 2 seconds or 20 is not going to change the .swf file size.

Okay, this thread got me inspired to attempt learning some flash. I have no excuse not to since I upgraded to CS3 and paid an extra $200 for the DesignPremium with Flash. I watched the some Videos on The Adobe Workshop and looked at the RC tutorial and have so far come up this. It has no action script and does nothing else except play :o

Cool Repro - I am also struggling with Flash these days - have learned some utter basics and felt a lot of confusion. I am able to link a button to a website and stop an animation, and that's about it so far.
Nice one.
