Add Timing to Self Running Pdf/Photoshop?

How would you build in timing to a self-running pdf. For example, you wanted transitions to be set at certain time intervals?

Or another thought just popped into my head: what about PHotoshop CS3 extended. Timing can be built in there. Could you get the animation of PSCS3 into a pdf? I just went brainstorming. The top paragraph is my basic question.
