On my Mac, OSX 10.4.11, I am having issues getting Acrobat 7 Pro to print to pdf as well. I installed CS3 Design Standard and found that I needed to keep 7 Pro for now. So I uninstalled 8 and now 7 is having issues, saying that it cannot find Distiller to create pdfs or that Acrobat is not installed correctly.

Detect and Repair do not work for me. The pdf printer is reinstalled, but the printer does not process anything. No job shows up in either the Active or Completed queues. Is there anything else that may have been broken by installing Acrobat 8, then uninstalling it to use Acrobat 7?

I have even tried CUPS latest version, to no avail. It also fails. Using CUPS, the job goes to the print queue and moves to the Completed jobs without creating a pdf.

Any thoughts? Anyone?

I will recommend you to update the Acrobat Reader to the new Acrobat Mac (http://www.justskins.com/forums/sitemap/f-15.html) reader version 9, since Adobe has done some major modifications in the new algorithm. It even looks better with the rich user interface.

I have the same set up. But whenever I tried to install 8 it wouldn't let me. Now everyday the updater pops up with reminders to install it but I don't. How did you install 8? with updater? I see 9 is now out, are you going to try that? Have you called apple?

After looking it up it seems it's a common problem with 8. Lots of people are having the same problem and 9 may have cleared it up.
