Hi everyone,

What is the market demand like for ACI certification?

Is it really worth going for ACI credentials? Is there a great need for certified instructors out there?

If I put ACI on my resume will it really help me land teaching gigs? Or are the certification fees just another revenue stream for Adobe?

I'm a Web / User Interface professional with a B.A. and 10 years of experience in the field. I'm starting to do some career growth and development in the area of technical training. I hope to develop a nice side career as an instructor (either in classroom or online e-learning).

I'm hoping to determine where the market demand is and become qualified to teach in those areas.

Thanks!

Hi benjudy,

I'll never forget what a good friend of mine, who's a printer, said when I asked him if there's a need for computer graphics instructors. Without hesitation he answered, "Hell yes!"

I've been an Adobe Certified Instructor for InDesign and Illustrator for over 5 years now. The demand depends entire on what programs you're certified in. The demand for InDesign training is huge. Not so for Illustrator. I probably get about 10 InDesign training jobs for every one for Illustrator.

Another thing that has an effect on demand is the small number of Certified Instructors. There are 52 Certified Instructor listed for InDesign on Adobe's site and 30 or so for Illustrator for the entire U.S. Not a lot of competition!

Hope this helps!
