Image not showing up in IllustratorCS2

Hey All,
I'm fairly new at Illustrator, But I have imported images before and also used the live trace feature too you know using the place command. I've done this many times, However, I tried to do this yesterday and the graphic does not show up. I've tried saving it in different formats. but, still nothin'

This has me boggled, any help would be great!

Maybe you are outline artwork view and need to switch to preview artwork view? Photos do not display in Outline view.

I know when I trace photos I use two layers, one for the picture and one for the tracing, and I keep the image layer in Artwork Preview mode and keep the tracing layer in Artwork Outline mode.
