I just had a major computer malfunction and, while not the root cause, I have had a lot of issues with saving files (Acrobat 8) from the web (tutorials and such) on my Windows XP platform (IE7 for what that is worth). I have a lot of freezing, necessitating a major power-down (Cannot even get to Ctrl Alt Delete nor to Start>Turnoff computer). All these reboots from the computer itself are not good and I suspect that is part of my issue with the computer finally failing.

Anyone else have massive seizures while trying to save files using Acrobat?

No I haven't had it. And I have a pretty small computer setup.

tutorials could have lots of files associated with them, pictures, videos, etc, could that be the problem?

I know that PDF files via the browser pluggin can be a problem, try downloading the files (usually right-clicking a link and chose save as) to your harddisk and opening them in Acrobat directly.
