I've been liking for CS3 Extended's Photo Merge for some time now and I'm starting to notice still more interesting stuff. Like once you've got it auto merged (auto masked), then it's easy to edit the mask to reveal a different layer if you're not happy with how photoshop picked which image to mask. I was doing a thing with three mirrors and this was good for selecting a different reflection, if I didn't like the one photoshop chose, But both would still line up real well so it was easy to edit the masks. Another thing it seems to do is leave obvious clone clues, it aligns two areas very close and then paints in an obvious paint fill, showing you where is the best place to clone in the gap of a missing image. Here's one from this morning. A little sun break in between some rain.
I need to go back and redo some of my Century Plant manual merges with CS3, since the plant itself has been cut down.
