Well, after the driest year on record, we had a decent bit of slow rain. Slow rain is the key. Many times when it rains it pours, that song is no joke, it really dang pours. But this year it just rained slow and steady, which lets it soak in. And so now spring has sprung, with almost a vengeance, it seems. We normally have the meat of our winter this time of year, but this year that is not the case. And so the sun has cracked the whip and gotten everything moving along at full speed. Here is a photo of what will soon be, hopefully, some yummy fruit.

what, y'all snowed in?
You bet ! This is a record year as far as snow : more than 4 meters ! In Quebec city (which celebrates its 400 aniversary : first city in North America) they had more than 5 meters ! So... where are you Spring ?

one more snow scheduled for today. Heck it can snow in the middle of May around here. It's entirely unpredictable. I can almost smell the flowers in your pics. But when spring does hit we'll have Crocus coming up through whatever is left of the snow.

The only ones that really smell are the Citrus. They smell very nice. the last time we had a sunny warm spring like this was two years ago, which was followed about 300 days of sunshine, which is very unusual. This is normally the time when we get a lot of clouds and cold weather. Last weekend broke all records for heat and sun. As I type, the mocking birds are singing a little song.

The weathermen have made many bad predictions so far this year! They predicted cold weather for this week, but it just hasn't arrived. sounds like you guys arnt' getting it up there either. If you snap a pic, show some waves!;)

yup, weather is still great today, not a chance of rain as far as i can see. silly meteorologists...
anyway, here's my version of a spring bloom. not exactly blossoms, or waves. i took these on my way home yesterday, frustrated and bored.
this line wasn't even that long, it gets much much worse. the green on those hills won't last very long either, it's pretty much a spring thing.
:D

Cool shots. I've only been to Monterey Bay once, to drop off some stickers at Wavelenghts Surfshop.

*sigh* no snow anywhere in sight!

umm... I'm assuming that's a sigh of relief?
GuyB sounds like he's figuratively up to his neck in snow.
I know here they are having classic spring conditions for skiing in the mountains. Good snow and shorts and bikini top skiing conditions. I wonder if I can find a photo on the net...
Here's one, no bikini tops, but it doesn't look too cold. I'm not much of an expert on snow.
No Repro ! Not "figuratively", it's literally ! Too bad I don't have a camera...
I just got this from a newspaper site. It gives you just a hint of what this winter has been. You see people opening up their driveways after only ONE snow storm (about 2 weeks ago)

Yikes. didn't kialua post a photo last year of snow all the way up to top of her living room window?
On the upside, I guess all that shoveling would warm you up a bit ;)

When I read this, coming from a guy who's probably in bermudas right now, the thing that comes to my mind is : OOOOOHH ! Cruel world ! ;)
In fact, everybody here is in a great shape !

Bermudas? What are you nuts?! The temp finally dropped as promised by those pesky weathermen. It's down to about 64° and partially cloudy here at home, with haze and marine layer and 59° at the beach, (which is where I may go shortly) Brrr. ;)
Oh no !? The temperature is DOWN to 64 ??? Sacrebleu ! Poor little thing ;)

No just half way up.
Shoveling can warm you up –or give you a heart attack! Being way up in the low 40's our snow cover is finally starting to leave, but not my yard, too shady and north facing.

Yup, and it's downright overcast today, rained a bit last night, and is back down to 57° this morn. brr, brr, brr. Where are my long sleeve shirts!? :)

This was out my front door last week with the Razr again. The plant very visibly missing from it's hanger. I quick shot it to send my daughter in Florida, lucky girl.

Love the beach. I have never in my life seen so much cold stuff! It was in the 60's today in the Upstate of SC...I love when it starts to get warmer.

I had a friend from Myrtle Beach way back in College and we'd hit Huntington Beach to surf, as Myrtle Beach I guess was a bit of a surf town and he was into it. Not sure if that's in N Carolina or S Carolina.
But I love that Winter Wonderland shot of kialua's. Reminds me of the Santa's Viliage we'd drive up to in the mountains when I was a kid. We'd even take field trips there in grade school. But it was not quite as cold as in that shot of Kialua's ;)

Thanks, but you should see the Razr group on Flicker, they have some stunning shots. Oh you get used to the snow and realize that there is life elsewhere, so thanks for the glimmer of hope in you guys' pictures. Going to be in the 50's they say so it should be gone soon, but it can still snow till May.

Hey guyB. that was me up to being no good. :D
twelve2008 left some kind of spam message and rather than deleting the message I took the time to "enhance" it!
Now, I see the edit : got me :D

guyb, Sometimes I get nasty with the spammers because I consider them to be coming from a bravado stance. we delete, they post. It's been very quiet on the spam front for the last few weeks or so, and then this weekend we got hit a bit of action. sometimes they continue to post under nearly the same names each time, like beauty123, whom I also stuck it to this weekend. What else could that be but bravado? to be banned and deleted, and still come back later to spam under the same name. You'll have to excuse my indiscretion, but sometimes I can't help but think that the best way to discourage a bravadist (my coin) is to play their own game. better.
