Just read the latest Layers magazine which included news of Live Pen. Looks useful. Has anyone used it? I have a query about it but their support forum looks as dead as a very dead thing so I thought I'd try here. (Please remove the post if it's out of order)

I downloaded the trial but I can't get it up and running. Opening it from the Start Menu opens a Registration window which says my trial is up!!? Clicking on "Continue loading" causes it to close and there is nothing within Illustrator that resembles Live Pen. No temporary code was given.

Do I need to copy it to Illustrator's Plug-ins folder? Strangely, Live Pen appears in a CS2 folder on my drive (I have Illustrator CS3 and have NEVER owned CS2). Copying the Live Pen folder to the CS3 Plug-ins folder causes a "conflict".

Any suggestions welcome as I don't want to spend $99 on something that will make life more unpleasant. There appears to be absolutely no information on their website about installing, maybe I should take that as a warning. (Windows Vista)

I don't know why your post would be out of order here if live pen was in the layers mag. This is their fourms.

Haven't dug to deep yet, but what I have found is that Live Pen is for windows 2000/XP not vista. You may have a compatiable issue going on there and why it is not functioning right. Still doing research will let you know more later.

I think you may be on to something, mitzs. I was concentrating on the fact that they are now only just CS3 compatible, not Vista. I seem to remember that Vista was not an option when stating OS (One would think that this Vista incompatibility thing was in the past by now). Thanks for looking in to it.

Just covering bases, given that it's not Illustrator. There is a Live Pen forum where this sort of thing should be dealt with and I've seen too many responses in other forums telling people that the first port of call should be the manufacturer.

Yeah I've seen sites like that, and it called lazyiness for not wanting to even try to help others. I won't be part of a forum that is like that. Yes, I will have made that suggestion myself but only as part of a solution not as a I can't be bother.

Don't worry about the help, I am use to moding and admining certification boards , it is just something I do.;)
