I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.4.2 (Tiger) and to Adobe CS2.
Mac Powerbook G4 550 MHZ, 768MB RAM
Epson 1270
I am unable to print from InDesign or Acrobat. Printing from other applications works fine. I have tried printing directly (USB connection) and printing over my network. I have tried reloading drivers from the OS X install DVD. I have tried deleting and re-adding the printer. I have tried downloading new drivers from the Epson website.
I checked the discussion boards at Apple and Adobe and apparently I am not alone in experiencing printing problems. However, no one has a solution yet. I have emailed Epson and tried to contact them by phone without success. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

I had printing problems when I installed Tiger also. I weent to epson to find out why and they told me that my printer (SC 3000) was being driven by a Gimp print driver. Well read their email to me for yourself. I hope this helps:
In Tiger (OS 10.4), the driver for your printer comes from a third party
company called "CUPS" or "GIMP Print". You should be able to print with
this driver, however please keep in mind that because this is not Epson's
software, we cannot guarantee its function or provide technical support for
it. (Please note, the Epson Printer Utility will not connect to this driver
and the print menus and output will not be the same as seen on previous
operating systems with Epson drivers.)
You can try the following to add this third party driver:
1. Open Printer Setup Utility (found in HD > Applications > Utilities).
Highlight and delete any existing references to your Epson printer model
name.
2. Choose Add. Highlight the printer name. For "Print Using" select
"EPSON".
3. A long list of Gimp-print drivers will appear below. Select your printer
model’s Gimp-print entry from this list and hit Add.
For more information on what GIMP Print drivers are and how they work, you
can refer to the following web site or Apple:

It seems it's InDesign problem...
The printing code is screwey, don't know where they had the code writtin.
It's not a 10.4.2 problem only, this stuff happends in 10.3.5 and 10.3.9 as well.
I've done all known to man to fix this problem, Adobe's people scratch their heads and tell me they'll try and address it by the end of the week snd get back to me....
Oh well, if they can't I want a refund, photoshop and acrobate upgrades aren't worth $500.00 to me.
Take a look at my post titleed LaserJet 4/4m printing problem.

Just a suggestion that worked for me - in the print dialog box, under the Graphics section, try checking the box under the Fonts section labelled 'Download PPD fonts'. Also make sure that 'Complete' is selected in the Fonts Download box, and 'All' in the Images Send Data box.
