Hey, great shot! I especially like the warmth of the color in the horizon. Was that the actual color of horizon at the time, were you using a filter, or have you made adjustments in Photoshop? If the latter, what steps did you take (feel free to focus on the essential ones!)?

......original shot in RAW, pp with ACR and pushed the saturation a little, the colours are a normal sunset in Queensland Australia, no filter was used or applied....

It's probably boring after you've seen it for a 10000 times but I bet the tourists go WOW when they witness one. Great shot BTW! :)

Is this near Brisbane? I've been there, but my memory isn't sharp enough to figure it out. Wherever it is, it's truly a lovely image. Well done.

The Gold Coast is about 1 hour from Brisbane, give or take 10 minutes, and, would you believe, on the coast.......

I drove from Sydney to Brisbane one Christmas on the Pacific Highway and have never seen such photography worthy scenery in my life. Truly a wonder!

Nice. I had the great fortune of spending some time on Stradbroke Island (not sure if that falls exactly on the Gold Coast) many years ago. You truly live in a beautiful part of the world.
How do you like that Sigma lens? I have a D70 too, and a new wide angle lens is on my list for the coming year.

Many thanks.......Stradbroke Island would be about 2-3 miles from the spot where this pix was taken...
The Sigma lens was purchased over the Nikon because there is no barrel distortion with the Sigma, where there is with the Nikon.
Nikon 12-24dx accepts filters, Sigma only on the rear element and then only gel filters. I think that the quality of the Sigma is on a par with the Nikon, but with the type of pix's that I shoot, I rather NOT have the barrel distortion.....
Any filters that I need to apply, can be done in Photoshop

One word...WOW! That cloud above the tall building and the boat on the right really make the picture.

I just opened it in PS and did some minor color corection to get rid of that unreal green cast but if you intended the green cast, nevermind.
