(stands up; chair scoots back...)
me: Hi, all. My name is Dave...
group: Hi, Dave!
me: ...and I have a Photoshop addiction. Well, really kinda a digital media addiction...
therapist: That's okay, Dave, You're not alone...all of us here, in some form or another, have a monkey like that. That's why we're here...

Hoping that I'll be able to learn a lot of things from folks around here. Especially since (brace yourselves) I'm still on PS7. yes, yes, I know...I really oughta yaddayaddayadda..but I just can't afford it. So, I gots to work with what I gots. (Is there a Cro-Magnon subforum here, anywhere?:D ) I realize that many things I read about I won't be able to do anything with, but maybe I can keep learning and be ready for the day when I can afford CS2 (which'll be when it's CS5, probably).

Anyway, I'm a musician and photographer, audio and video engineer, coffee drinker (black, please, no sugar). I figure that's a good start. I'm trying to beat the curve on learning how to build a website, so I'll be asking some pretty stupid questions (I've made a lifetime of that, don't stop me now). I already have the philosophy of the website down pat (clean, simple, etc.), I just need to learn how to assemble it. Oh, yeah...I also only have GoLive 5 in Classic. No hurdles there, huh?

Anyway, thanks for being here. I look forward to some participation.

Welcome to the group. It is very quiet here so far but perhaps over time this will improve. Enjoy !!:D

I am a professional web designer, so be happy to answer what I can. Wow, you have a range of interests - hobbies or money makers?

Well, I've never really had time for a hobby; all my interests that most would view as a hobby have, at some point or another, made money for me. I spent a long time as a professional musician, moved into studio engineering and production, did pro photog on the side; spent the last ten years as a broadcast engineering technician, done with that, going back to my first loves. Make sense?:D

Makes sense. Wow, I wish that I could try out so much stuff - sometimes I feel a bit stuck. My next venture is definitely photography.

Careful what you wish for. Trying out all sorts of stuff could--and likely will-lead to option paralysis.
