Hi all,

Its good to see a website based on illustrator as some of the tools and keys are difficult to use in the program and dont explain how to etc.
Im really new to illustrator and new to this website. My question is how do i fill background with a colour? do i always have to draw something and then fill it in? E.g in Microsoft paint you can just fill the page with any coluor without drawing anything, how do i do that with illustrator? and also get rid of the A4 lay out everytime you start new document?

Sorry for troubles

Matt

AI works with objects, so you pretty much need to draw box the size of your page and fill it with a color. AI will make objects in your illustration appear as if they have a transparent backgorund. Which is very help when placing them in a page layout program.

hope this helps,
