I just have to say this. OMG! FINALLY! After being an Illustrator enthusiast for five years there's finally a site dedicated to Illustrator. Over the years I've had to piece meal together information from various websites and publications just to get information on my favorite program. As a Illustrator user I've often felt left out of the loop with the plethora of information out there for Photoshop. So I just want to praise the souls who put in the time and effort to put together a magazine and a website focusing solely on Illustrator. It's long over due. :D

Good to have you on board, I think a lot of us feel this way, great to have a place to go and hopefully it will turn in to a thriving community.

I have been using Illustrator for a long time, and have been doing freelance for years and kind of migrated away from traditional graphic arts and got involved with 3D modeling and have been doing work for a few independant game houses here and there as kind of a hobby though I still started a lot of my textures I used in Illustrator.
After all this time, a graphic arts job fell into my lap unexpectedly and I find myself making a very comfortable living now and I use Illustrator 80% of the time at work (Also use AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign).
I found this place and hope to stick around a while. Every now and then I like some advice, and I have plenty to give.

I'm stoked about the creation of an Illustrator society but the tutorials are a little weak. I wish they were more advanced.

As you can imagine, it's a challenge to come up with tutorials that will reach a wide range of abilities... It's also hard to know what people mean by "more advanced", so can you give us some idea of what you're looking for?
Thanks!

Dave, I apologize. "Weak" was a terrible word. I love the site. I've been trying to think of what I meant by "more advanced." I guess what I'm trying to do is simply make illustrations look more cool. I was hoping to find some super tool I have yet to discover. After picking my brain I realized I know how to use all the tools. The only thing limiting me is me, not your tutorials. I just need to take some time and come up with my own killer illustrations. Thanks for all your work. I can't wait to start receiving the magazines.

I would definitly recommend this book and also another book with some great tips is the WOW book, http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Illustrator-CS2-Wow-Book/dp/0321320468 . I stopped by your web site and was impressed, I work in the field and believe me these even simple tutorials are great to remind us of the power of illustrator and that the real power in in our imagination. I too am excited that there is something for Illustrator now. Also, being that this site and the publication is from NAPP people we know that it will be thought through, quality and helpful to us all.
ON a side note, if you are looking for some more quality tuts try the NAPP Illustrator 101 DVD. Matt does a great job at bringing us who are relativity new to Ill, up to speed and those who need that creative push, the push they need.
try it out.
