Photoshop DCS 2 images in AICS2

When we place a DCS 2 image in Illustrator CS2, the preview is so poor that we cannot judge correct placement. We did not see this issue in AI10. If we save with a TIFF preview, it is only slightly better. 8 bit Mac preview is horrible. The image looks fine if saved as a PSD instead of DCS 2. The problem seems random and does not always show up.

If you go to File --> Preferences --> File Handling & Clipboard, make sure "Use low resolution proxy for linked eps" is UNchecked. It makes the DCS2 file a little easier to look at!
