I was trying to figure out lighting, shading etc in car illustrations. Planning on tackeling one soon. Saw this tut on Todd Ferris' site :

but, it's another one of those I just don't get. To acheive this do you use the "make blend" option, gradient tool, or just rely on the opacity? Are all the shapes the same size? Are there 3 shapes, color, darker color and white? Can anyone splain this one to me?

The tutorial was posted for someone who emailed me a question, but you asked "To acheive this do you use the "make blend" option"? and the answer is YES. You asked "To acheive this do you use the gradient tool? NO. You also asked "To acheive this do you use the just rely on the opacity?" Absolutely. You asked "To acheive this do you use the Are all the shapes the same size? NOT AT ALL. As for these when you asked "Are there 3 shapes, color, darker color and white? Can anyone splain this one to me? I can only say go back and look at it again. It tells you there is to blends with % of tone used.

But again. That tutorial was for someone who had a working knowledge and a direct question.

Thanks
