crop

Hi,
I've opened an image in Illustrator (one I'd previously made in AutoCAD), and I want to crop it. Can I crop??

Are you just asking permission (as in yeah, go ahead, it's fine with me), or you don't know how to do it and asking how to do it?

Illustrator currently has no traditional "crop" tool or feature. You can use Clipping Masks, however.

Draw a rectangle around the area you wish to keep. Then select the artwork and the new rectangle and choose Object > Clipping Mask > Make.... This will place all your art on one layer if it already isn't.
