Type Tool looking like threading text

This should be a quick and easy one...

My type tool boxes aren't showing the standard big corners like I'm used to...

The text boxes all look like they're threading text - instead of normal text.

Text boxes can't be reseized in this mode, (adjusting the size, scales the text) and it's driving me nuts...

Please help.

C:\Documents And Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe that folder

if ur on a mac go into the finder windows click on your user and go into the library then the preferences folder then delete the Adobe Illustrator CS2 Settings folder

Try simply choosing View > Show Bounding Box.
