Ok, I'm likely to be shot down in flames again for asking another stupid question but, I'm trying to change the colours of a jpeg image (actually a racing car which is metallic blue and white) to all black.
The colour ( or color to some of you guys) replacement tool allows me to do this great in the blue but how do I do change the white to black, keeping the same perspective and highlights.
Please explain why only certain colours change perfectly whilst others don't
I'm sure theres an easy explanation to this.
Thanks

Yesh, me so bad ass you'd fweek if I told you how I do color repwacements.
It invloves work, hard work, roll-up-your-sleeves-man's work! And lots o' skill and talent.
Meaning: I do it the old fashioned way. Through a very traditional, manual process.
The kind of process that gives filter-hugging photshop newbies a major case of the willies.
That mey be why I don't even know what the color replacement tool is, that and the fact that it is new to Photoshop and only available in Photoshop CS2.
Me no have time to learn all dees silly filters when the goods is all in me head.
:D
It'd be interesting to see if anyone here is aware of the manual color replacement process I'm refering to.
(And no I would never bother explaining it here. I can'ts stand to hear dem filter-hugging newbies crying about how much work it is and why can't I just run a filter, how can I make a bevel when I don't have layer styles. How do you make a drop shadow? Displacement map! Whats a displacement map?! etc, etc.)
Sure hope you can excuse the sloppy masking on my quickie sample of manual color replacement in the attached image below!
cheers!

Now you're just being a pain in the ass.
Anybody else care to give me some help without offering me an example of their poor work.
Oh, and I'd be embarrassed to show that, even as a quickie example. Did you mention skill and talent?

Yesh and me knows someone who is so far up their own ass they only venture out to be-little the occaisional person that comes along to ask for help.
I've been using Photoshop for a matter of days unlike you who have probably been using it years.
I joined this forum like others to seek help, however I don't need to listen to self rightous anoraks who probably know little else about life than trying to make themselves feel good by trying to intimidating others.
Repro Kid (Kid being the operative word there) you seem to make this a habit and see that you have done it to others, I just wonder how many members this site has lost as a result of your smug arrogant ways.
Oh, and you like bright green..... this is bright green

Call it what you'd like.
I'd call it personal retaliation.
Btw, stopped reading childrens books years ago, how about you?

This is the flame that started it all. This post shows that you are a trolling antagonizer looking to start a flame war.
you seem to make this a habit and see that you have done it to others,
You've just joined. How could you see any patterns? And to what others are you referring?
I just wonder how many members this site has lost as a result of your smug arrogant ways.
It seems all too clear you were trolling for a reaction and purposely baited me. If you're still around, then I have not done my job.
Oh, and "yorksnPROUD" sounds about as smug and arrogant as its comes. Needlessly flaming on the internet is nothing to be proud of.
I deleted all my flames as I realized your intention from post one was to bait me. Everyone can see you are trolling for reactions. I was actually helpful to you the first time you posted what really was, in fact, a stupid question. (Yes Virginia, there really are stupid questions). But there is nothing in this world or this forum that requires me to help you understand what is clearly beyond your reach, and nothing that requires me to be polite to an openly aggressive antagonizer such as yourself.
I've seen dozens and dozens of people such as yourself come and go, both in real life and on the internet. On the internet it is one thing, but in real life, nothing good ever comes these types in end. I've seen it all too often.

Before I vanish from this site for good, like probably many more before me who have come into contact with you, the first reply was not intended as a flame but as an observation turned into joke and anyone with any sort of sense of humour would have taken it that way. What you did was consider it as an insult and launch into your usual "filter hugging newbie" comments.
New members will join this forum, people who have recently been introduced to Photoshop, who will ask questions that to you, will appear dumb and stupid.
Rather than trying to intimidate these people as you do (and theres plenty of evidence of that on this site) ignore the questions, better to do that than tell them it's far "beyond their reach", like some spoilt brat who feels they have the monopoly on information.
If I'd wanted to bait you and clearly it doesn't take much to do that, I'd have done it in a different way.
Since my last post, I have joined another forum. I've been given the answers to my questions from a number of friendly people who evidently know as much if not more than you do (well, they did know what a colour replacement tool was for a start)
and they didn't possess the childish and arrogant "I'm the Daddy of this site" attitude that you unfortunately like to portray.
So, as far as you are concerned you have "done your job" I'm sure the owners of this site would look at it a different way, They've lost a member and consequently less hits on their site.
Keep up the good work!
Oh, and to the people reading this post who know what he's like, I may have "done my job", This may have made a nicer person of him....I very much doubt it though.

...Since my last post, I have joined another forum. I've been given the answers to my questions...
It must be nice, to have things that you expect just given to you. it's been my experience in life that the things you want most sometimes must be worked for, and not simply handed over. how else would you be able to appreciate those things?
you are what you make of yourself, young padawan. so by all means, carry on and make something of yourself. do really require my assistance?
