Hello. Does anyone know if there's any way to stack layers in the timeline and be able to see the layers beneath? I'm trying to stack a black box that fades from 100% to 0% opacity on top of a picture so that the black fades leaving the picture behind it, but showing the picture gradually. So far, all I've been able to accomplish is the black fading all the way to white before the picture appears. I was able to have the picture appear if I set it over the same frames in a different layer with its opacity going from 0% to 100%, but that looked awful. I don't really want to change the opacity of the bottom layer. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you so much.
P.S. I created the fading black box in fireworks, if that makes a difference, and the entire thing will eventually end up as part of a dreamweaver file, so if anyone knows any way to do this in any of these programs, that would be great. Thanks again.

Create a new layer stacked on top of the layer with your art. Draw a rectangle with no outline over the entire stage and fill it with black. Add a keyframe where you want the fade to end, then in the Color Mixer panel turn the Alpha of the black rectangle on the end keyframe to 0. Put a shape tween on the rectangle and it will fade from 100 to 0 percent Alpha.
Works for me.
Oh, and if I remember right, you can imbed the SWF into Dreamweaver, so that shouldn't be a problem.
