Photoshop CS does not show all the fonts, however illustrator updates with the new fonts after a restart of the application. Why is this that Photoshop CS (Mac OS X 10.4.2) Does not show all the fonts I have installed? I am using Font Agent Pro to manage my fonts.
Cheers,

Hi,
Are you activating all fonts that you loaded in Font Agent Pro? If so, don't do it. Just create a library for the ones you need and then active that set.
Also, under the Preferences, make sure that under the "Activation" tab, click on the "Enable Auto...," "Verify Fonts Before..," "Include Manually Activated..." and then "Include Auto-Activated..."

I am only using Apple's FontBook and it seems to work fine with CS but then again I only have a few hundred fonts.

i intend to use many fonts..infact i have over 1000 fonts in a CD but not in my harddrive.
will installing more fonts decrease the speed of my computer?
is there a way to preview and use the fonts from CD or another drive..without actually installing them in the system folder?

There is a nice little piece of freeware called "The font thing" (for PC) which I can recommend. It will do most of the job: browsing, installing, grouping and removing.

For other font stuff you could try this location:

Good luck!
