Hi,
Don't kill me if I tell you my client simply has everything printed in China...so oftentimes it's hard to ask them a question and if I do get an answer, it's very hard to understand.
Anyway, I hope you can help me. This is the first time I'm doing color sep for silkscreening, it will actually be printed on a wooden box.
I think I understand that I can save separations in pdf in Illustrator, I will be using 6 PMS colors (spot). To have a better idea, please see the attached design I made superimposed on wood (the wood will not be part of the design). I just have questions:
- is there a specific order in which colors should be printed? For example should black be printed last?
- I will be doing trapping, so I will be setting several strokes to overprint (probably the black)...do overprints also apply to this type of printing?
- how do I put crop marks on the separations?
- any other tips?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Lala
