I made a logo for a contest on the schoolforum and i was wondering what you guys think of it.

They said it had to have some kind of family crest.
MCT stands for Multimedia and Communication Technology so i tried to put a picture of a couple of my classes i have.
The person behind the computer stand for a programmer (VB.Net, Java, xHTML, CSS, XML,etc...), the USB symbol stands for the technology part of my education (PC Fundamentals, Electronics, etc...), the triangle is the triangle of Sierpinski which stand for Problem Solving (some kind of advanced math) and the overal picture with the arrows and cloudbackground stands for the design.
If you people have any tips or something plz tell me, if you dont like it tell me why, i can take alot of criticism so i wont mind :)
PS: if my english is crappy, im sorry, im not used to post in english forums.

The rays around the triangle symbol look a bit busy (for a crest), I like the idea behind the programmer, just not the graphic itself, and I only sort of get the background behind the crest. The cloud shape with the X's, I just don't see the meaning (the arrows are fine and I like that part of it)
Not a bad start start though, and I like where the overal design is heading.

Thx for the reply's :)
The rays do look a little bit busy but i just wanted to make it a bit more modern vectorartlook.
The clouds and the crosses are maybe a little overkill, i think the logo will be nice with just the arrows in the background so i'll just delete the clouds and crosses.

Well the logo contest ended yesterday and sadly i lost.
However i had to compete to a girl who is a well-known moderator on mctforum as well so i dont really know how fair the contest really was + the admins get last word who wins so...
It was a close call though (3-4 votes difference i think) and thx to a script and addon of firefox i can choose my logo on top of the forum instead of the one that won.
The winning logo

The vote was completely by the book and was indeed a very close call, we clearly said people should choose for logo's and not for the people who made the logo.
I dont see why you mention the fact that the admins had the last call... That was put there if the vote was inconclusive OR if the vote wasnt fair. I checked newly registred members daily during the vote to see if for example people registred with abnormal emailadresses so they could vote severall times. Or if there was an abnormal amount of new members.
In that case and only such cases the admins would disregard the outcome of the poll.
I hope you now understand the meaning of 'admins having the last word on it'.
stijnv,
junior admin @ mctforum

Can't you argue about this on your own forum?
And not for nothing... where is the family crest in the winning logo? And typically for contests (lotteries and whatnot) employees and family memebers of employees are not allowed to participate. I think it is in poor judgement that an admin of the forum was allowed to participate in the forum's own contest.

Please read very carefully, it was not an admin that participated, it wasnt me.
It was a person who moderates a certain subforum of our own forum. Not even a full moderator.
If i could choose, i wouldnt be replying here. But seeing our member posting our new logo + posting comments as if the contest wasnt fair makes me want to respond.
Secondly, the family crest was a suggested option by the main admin, but was never obliged! And was never a criteria in the poll.

You could just PM me instead of whining here.
Just posted the winning logo because it was maybe intresting to see what was better then mine.
Didnt know about the admin had last word on it, i thought they decided after the logo was chosen.
Full moderator or not, most people just voted for her not for the logo while all people who voted on my logo gave good arguments for why they chose it.
Also the subforum where she is moderator is the most popular place on the forum...sadly enough.
So lets stop arguing here because you just became a member here to complain, you maybe an admin on mctforum but here your just a member.
If you want to discuss some more then just PM me.

I never complained here, i sommed up some facts, you're the one complaining about not winning. you're a bad loser, it only was a few votes different, live with it. if you want to continue you can allways pm me on the concerning board, it wont make any difference at all and you will only look more and more immature.

I really wonder where you get your information on why the people voted for wich logo, i can assume the same about your votes, i wont actually. It was a anonymous vote and about 100 people voted, allmost no-one stated on who they have voted, note that even i didnt.
