hello there,
these are my first steps in this forum, and i hope someone will have an answer for me...........

well.....the question: how is it possible to trace a scanned black and white drawing, the way, that it looks the closest to the original. i actually think the drawings are simple enough to make that possible, eventhough i tried everything under tracing options i could not figure it out. There are always little parts missing and the lines are so much thicker than in the original.

it would be awesome if sb could help me with that.::D

Illustrator's Auto Trace Tool (older versions) and Live Trace will only get you so far. There is no micale settings or options what will perfectly translate a raster image into a vector one.

Since these are black and white drawings, try adjusting the Threshold and Minimum area. Once you get the image as close as you can, you will have to Expand the trace, and then fix it manually.

hm..............thats how far i have got already. is there another way to transform a drawing inzo paths? i would "draw" all these paths in illustrator, the handdrawn character would get lost.:(
