Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum and spill a bit about me.

I've been a professional photographer for over 8 years and have always been passionate about illustration due to friends in the signage business that always showed me how to make the most amazing graphics through Illustrator.

Recently I was given the opportunity to work with a friend that is a developing genius but has no artistic ability to illustrate some of the designs he wants to promote.

I've browsed around quite a few forums to find a place to call 'home'. Here is where I ended up.

I look forward to tapping the incredible knowledge base here in illustration.

Welcome,

Always nice to have another Photographer around. I, like you started in the world of photography way back in the day when people used film. If I may even date myslef a little. I worked on the processing side of the house as well since I did not trust anyone else to do it for me, spending half my time behind a Hassleblad in the studio, the other half behind a Bessler in the darkroom.

Somehow, after a very round about trip I now work for a printing company splitting my time between design, engineering and pre-press/production art.

And while I look forward to having you around, I would like to warn you that your now "home" might not be around much more. IT has published it's last issue and has merged with layers and for some reason, probably the overwheming amount of SPAM and lack of presence of moderators, their forums just are not what these have been. Plus the focus is off of strictly illustrator.

Don't worry though, a plan is afoot just in case these boards are no more in the future at some point.

Again, welcome and look forward to your contributions. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There are some GREAT professionals at this site.
