Hi,
I created some figures in Illustrator CS2, which I'd like to use in Word. When I save the different files in tiff, or png then the white background contains blue dots when printed out (presumably due to some transparency settings, but I don't really know..). When I print out from Illustrator directly, the image is fine.
Does anybody know, how I can export it for Word and maintain the white background?
Thanks, Franz

What version of word? I tried bringing in a bunch of file formats and could not replicate your problem with either TIF or PNG (Illustrator CS2 and CS3 to MS Word 07).

○I would recommend having your document in RGB format.

○When you export, use a high resolution (150 or 300 instead of 72)

○You may want to try a WMF, especially if you are using an older version of Word (Office has always worked well with them)

○If all esle fails, create a white rectangle that covers the page and export, however you should not have it come to that.

IT could quite possibly also be caused by the printer driver. I tried it on a color laser(HP) as well as a color inkjet(Epson) and got nothing.

Hi,
Thanks for your help, very much appreciated! I am using Illustrator CS and MS Word 2003. I created now a random figure and saved it again in the png format. When I chose white background in the saving options, then again I had this background with blue dots on it on my Ms word printout. But when I specified "transparency" in the saving options, then the background was gone, and the figure was fine. so there is something wrong with the default "white" setting. I guess, png might not be the best format for high-quality images.
Thanks, Franz
