I know what the other brushes do, but I prefer the Marker Rough brush.

Is there anyway to make this brush more dry in appearance or less loaded with ink? Yes, I know about the Opacity slide but I don't want to make it Opaque.

I need a drier brush to do the same thing that it is designed for but not so loaded with the ink or color.

Is this possible?

Most grateful for your guidance.

In the Brush Palette there is a flyout menu. Pop up the Brush Options menu. You can change how the brush works there. If you have the object that you have stroked selected, you can preview the changes you are making.

The Fly Out Menu does not control this quality/aspect/trait of the brush.

Anyone out there know what I am talking about?

Hi Country Boy,

Click and drag your "Marker - Rough" Brush out of the Brushes palette to access the original Vector.

To make it look "dryer," you need to cut holes into this original vector by drawing small paths over the top. When your done, you'll have to select just the "holes" and make them into a Compound Path -- Object > Compound Path > Make (which makes them into just ONE Path).

Then select the Brushe's Vector and your new Compound Path holes and make them all into a Compound Path. This should cut holes into the Brush making it look dryer.

Select this Dryed Out Marker vector and drag it back into the Brushes palette. In the window that opens, select Art Brush, select any options and click OK.

Hope this helps!
