Help creating vector art in illustrator

Hi. Guys am wanting to know if anyone can point me in the right direction as to creating vector art in illustrator. Have looked on the web at some tutorials...but find they are a bit vague. I want to be able to create vector art of say famous people etc. Can anyone give me some tips and point me in the right direction. Am learning how to use the pen tool and know about layers etc......just want some good tutorials etc

Welcome dthomas31uk.

You need to be a bit more specific about what you are struggling with. Almost everything created in Illustrator is "vector art" unless you specifically change it.

Essentially it's all about the tools, pen tool, mesh tool, brushes, etc.

Hi.. I want to vectorize an image that is created from a photograph...of say a famous person and learn how to trace over with the pen tool and create skin colors etc eyes etc. bit like a pop art effect
